Infashion Emphasis on The Importance of Store Design on The Final Day

With the theme "Dream, Believe, Achieve", the third edition of InFashion kicked off on 20th March 2013 where the three day event brought together the entire textile, apparel and fashion community to exhibit, buy, and source and discuss the world of fashion and fabric. The three day fashion extravaganza began on 20th March, 2013 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon, Mumbai.

The final day of the event covered some of the most important aspects of textile retail business, laying emphasis on the importance of store design for the modernization of textile retail, the requirement of one stop shops to fulfill all the needs of the consumers and focused value chain integration.

The day started with a workshop conducted by entrepreneur, writer and spiritual trainer, Ranjit Dugar, which entirely focused on ways to manage our work and life balance.

Considering the evolution and transforming phase of Indian retailing, visual merchandise and store design has today became more significant to traditional retail as well as textile retailing. The highlight of the day was the session focused on this very issue which addressed the importance of store design in the modernization of textile retail.

Amit Aurora, Principal, DCA Architects; Anuradha Singh, Head VM & InStore Communication, Big Bazaar; Juhi Santani, Principal Designer, Retale Design and Shardha Kurup were among the speakers in the panel, while the session was moderated by Gurpreet Wasi, Director, Marketing & Conferences, Images Group. The speakers endorsed the idea that visual merchandise and store design can transform the complete picture of any retail store and help them to grow their business.

The concluding session was targeted on the integration of value chain. The session was moderated by Prashant Agarwal, Joint MD, Wazir Advisors and discussed the need of the entire cycle of value chain, be it cotton, fiber, yarn producers, fabric suppliers, RMG players, retailers or any other stake holders of this chain to come together and work collectively and convert the existing infrastructure into stronger and more profitable set up.

During the three days show, exhibitors were indulged interacting with serious trade visitors and decision takers of the trade coming from various parts of the country. Participation of various trade bodies from all major textile markets of the country made it more effective with 22,117 trade visitors thronging the show.

Ramesh Poddar, President FAITMA and MD Siyaram Silk Mills, in his closing remarks appreciated the large number of industry stake holders, who exhibited and participated in the latest edition of InFashion. He expressed that this kind of trade events helps the industry in becoming closer and organized. This will lead all the stake holders of this value chain to higher levels in days to come, said Poddar.
