Canadian ground transportation rates went up 1.1% in September, according to the latest Canadian General Freight Index.
The base rate, excluding accessorial charges, was up 1.7% compared to August levels, Nulogx reported.
Fuel surcharges accounted for 20.63% or the base rates in September, compared to 20.12% in August.
“This is the first base cost increase since March 2013,” said Doug Payne, president and COO, Nulogx. “Total Costs & Base Freight costs are still 2% and 2.3% respectively, below last year.”
