NASA has teamed up with the educational toy company LittleBits to produce a range of toys based on devices used by astronauts.

With the kit – retailing at around $189 – kids will be able to build miniature Mars Rovers or satellites, with the aid of five different NASA lesson plans.
Tech Times reports that in addition to following the plans, kids can mix and match the modules to create devices of their own, which they can then share on the LIttleBits website.
The New York-based toy company was approached by NASA just over a year ago and asked them to create a kit that would make it fun for kids to learn about space.
"We are taking one field at a time where technology is prevalent but people don't really understand it, then we are breakin it down and giving people the bricks so they can participate in it," said LittleBits founder, Ayah Bdeir.
