Chinese top telecom equipment supplier ZTE Corporation (SEHK: 0763 and SZSE: 000063) planned to become the biggest smart phone supplier in Philippines within three years.
A top executive from ZTE in charge of Southeast Asia revealed a market share of 20% for the company just one year after launching smart phones in the nation, expecting that half of the local market will be snatched soon with the promotion of four more new mobile phone models.
Once ZTE fulfilled the target to become the biggest local smart phone supplier, the company may move partial production capacity to Philippines.
