Singapore:Due to its resounding success in the Asian region over the last four years,the next edition of the Furniture Leadership Awards(FLA)is set to expand its scope to accept nominations for furniture and related companies worldwide.Nominations for FLA 2012/2013 will open on June 1,2012.
Recognised as the industry's most prestigious award programme,FLA is presented by Furniture and Furnishing Export International(FFE)together with Office and Contract International(OCI)–two leading furniture and interior products publications in the Asia Pacific region.FLA is dedicated exclusively to the furniture trade and business.
Endorsed by the Council of Asian Furniture Associations and the International Alliance of Furnishing Publications,FLA identifies and honours outstanding furniture and related companies.Entries are judged by an independent panel of industry authorities,management strategists and renowned academics,and are evaluated based on performance in:Leadership and Strategies;Marketing and Branding;Human Capital and Development;Business Process and Execution Capabilities;and Financial and Wealth Management.
Since 2008,a total of 92 companies and organisations from nine countries have been recognised by FLA.They consist of leading manufacturers,wholesalers,retailers,suppliers and fair organisers from Australia,China,Indonesia,Japan,Korea,Malaysia,Singapore,Thailand and Vietnam.
FLA 2011/2012 honoured a total of 16 winners at a grand award presentation ceremony and gala dinner held at the Shangri-La Hotel,Kuala Lumpur on March 8,2012.Guest-of-Honour at the event,His Excellency YB Tan Sri Bernard Giluk Dompok,Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities Malaysia,was joined by over 600 invited guests including award winners,regional industry authorities and major furniture exporters as well as leading furniture buyers.
The FLA programme and its winners are promoted aggressively via the organiser's various media channels,partnerships with 16 international furniture trade publications and 15 international furniture trade fairs.
