Interference-Causing Equipment Standard ICES-003, Issue 5, Information Technology Equipment (ITE) — Limits and methods of measurement, sets out the technical requirements relative to radio noise generated by Information Technology Equipment (ITE).
According to Notice No. SMSE-013-12 — New Issue of ICES-003, “ICES-003, Issue 5, will come into force as of the date of publication of this notice.” The effective date shall be August 25, 2012.
Major changes:
a) Add reference to ANSI C63.4
b) Update CISPR 22 version to CAN/CSA-CISPR 22-10.According to CSA website, CAN/CSA-CISPR 22-10- Information technology equipment –Radio disturbance characteristics - Limits and methods of measurement (Adopted IEC CISPR 22:2008, sixth edition, 2008-09, with Canadian deviations), it is similar to IEC CISPR 22:2008
c) Radiated emission above 1GHz required
d) Label requirement is changed Industry Canada ICES-003 Compliance Label: CAN ICES-3 (*)/NMB-3(*) * Insert either “A” or “B” but not both to identify the applicable Class of ITE
