Mouser Electronics Has Signed a Worldwide Distribution Agreement with Intersil

Mouser Electronics has signed a worldwide distribution agreement with Intersil.

This is an important analogue, mixed-signal and power semiconductor line for the online and catalogue distributor which is seeing its business in Europe growing by 20% this year.

To support its growth Mouser is lining up other big name franchise deals this year.

“I would expect us to add another three major lines by the end of the year,” Mark Burr-Lonnon, Mouser v-p of EMEA business, told Electronics Weekly.

“And a number of smaller lines too,” said Burr-Lonnon.

Typically Mouser adds around 60 lines each year.

The attraction of Intersil is its broad range of analogue parts which include amplifiers, power modules, analogue multiplexers, FET drivers and PWM controllers.

There are also mixed-signal switches and video ICs.

“This global agreement will allow us to expand our customer base,” said David Loftus, senior v-p of worldwide sales and corporate marketing at Intersil.

So far this year, Mouser has recorded a 20% rise in European sales, with France up 24%, Spain up 27%, the Benelux up 58%, UK up 19%, Italy up 23% and Germany up 16%.

“We are up across all markets and we are seeing stable levels of design activity,” said Burr-Lonnon.

Mouser has nine local offices in the EMEA region, in Germany, UK, Czech Republic, France, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Sweden.

“By adding more resources and staff members in Europe, we have helped drive further growth over an amazing 2010-2011,” said Burr-Lonnon.

Last year, the distributor’s European sales grew by 43%.

“Over the last three years sales were up 450%,” said Burr-Lonnon.
