Jordan's Furn Plans to Open Its First Connecticut Store on The Property in 12 to 18 Months

Jordan's Furniture has leased a 200,000-square-foot building here and plans to open its first Connecticut store on the property in 12 to 18 months, the New Haven Register reports.

Eliot Tatelman, president and CEO of the Taunton, Mass.-based retailer, told neighborhood residents at meeting here Wednesday about plans for the store, the Register said.

He said the company, part of the Berkshire Hathaway furniture division, has signed a lease for the New Haven Register building at 40 Sargent Drive. The retailer will share the building with four other tenants, he said. Plans call for the Register to vacate the building next year and relocate.

Jordan's has six stores in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island.

According to the Register story, Tatelman said that with the New Haven store, "We want to sell our furniture to all of Connecticut and some parts of New York, too."
