British consumer spending is set to reach £2.24 million per minute on Panic Saturday, according to a study by VoucherCodes.co.uk and the Centre for Retail Research.
Saturday, December 21st is set to be the busiest day of the year for in-store shopping, with the study suggesting that 13 million shoppers across the UK will spend £1,280 million on the day dubbed Panic Saturday.
The same study suggests that consumers will be hitting the High Street to stock up on Christmas gifts and household times, each spending £98.46, providing a boost to the slow Christmas experienced by retailers this December.
Reports from the Centre for Retail Research also suggest that December 25th will be a big day for online shopping as 'bargain hunters choose to start their sales shopping early.'
