Rug suppliers that showcased goods at the New York Home Fashions Market reported good news all around. From appointments with key customers to feedback on product and plans, manufacturers said the Manhattan market last week met expectations and helped set the tone for the latter half of 2015.
“We got a chance to meet with important customers who traditionally don’t come to the rug market and show them our new products before they preview in High Point,” said Arash Yaraghi, principal of Safavieh.
While it took place a few weeks before High Point, this market catered to an entirely different retail audience, which means producers view it under a different lens. Many buyers visiting the Home Fashions market represented some of the biggest names in home, retail, including big boxes, discounters and catalogs.
