CFMA Will Hold a Seminar to Provide Critical Information to Furniture Industry Members

With new flammability standards set to take effect Jan. 1, the California Furniture Manufacturers Assn. will hold a seminar to provide critical information to furniture industry members.

The seminar is set for Dec. 11 in Fullerton and is open to everyone in the furniture industry in California, officials said.

In 2012, the state's Bureau of Electronic and Appliance Repair, Home Furnishing and Thermal Insulation proposed changes in the regulations - previously revised in 1981 - for flammability standards.

The seminar will provide industry members in-depth information on the revisions, including updates on the laws, plans for enforcement, fabrics and furniture law labels.

Tonya Blood, chief of the BHFTI, and members of her staff will speak at the seminar.
