The Design Network Will Launch a New Video Series Next Month

The Design Network will launch a new video series next month featuring interior designer and lifestyle expert Tracy Hutson.

Hutson, perhaps best known as part of the design team on the former "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," will star in "Tracy Hutson's Momtourage," a seven- to 12 minute video series, in which she'll work with a different "do-it-all, multi-tasking woman," in each episode, someone trying to balance career and family and starved for time to focus on home design and decoration.

Viewers will follow Hutson "as she pays a surprise visit to each woman's home, listens to her story, learns about her family life and offers a fun and inspirational interior design intervention," TDN said.

Hutson's show is one of nine series currently in production, said Jason Harris, executive vice president of Jamestown, N.C.'s Furnitureland South and founder of TDN, online at www.thedesignnetwork.com, the conline "all-screens" network launched early this year to serve up home design and fashion videos designed to inspire, instruct and entertain.

The first of five episodes is expected to air in late November. Hutson is attending the High Point Market this week along with stars from several other TDN shows.

They're here for another show called "The Hot List," which will follow these stars on visits to market showrooms, giving TDN's supplier sponsors exposure in the process. The TDN stars will share photos and social media posts of some of their favorite finds and events here, and the show will culminate in a roundtable discussion where they'll debate design and talk trends.

Hutson began her design career as a carpenter's apprentice before launching Tracy Hutson Designs in Los Angeles in 1999. She is the author of "Feathering the Nest: Tracy Hutson's Eco-Friendly Guide to Decorating Your Baby's Room."

Hutson told Furniture/Today her goal with the new show is to not only help the women on screen, but to offer plenty of tips and takeaways for all viewers, "whether its color choice, or repurposing something," for instance.

Harris said the new series will deal with issues most women face today - balancing work and family life, "while maintaining a comfortable home where they are proud to raise their family, entertain guests and showcase their unique style."
