The Seminar on Investment Cooperation between Chinese Cities and Chicago City, jointly held by China International Promotion Agency (CIPA), Chicago Investment Promotion Bureau and Beijing Municipal Commission of Commerce was successfully held in beijing on the evening of July 14. Deputy Director of CIPA Wang Xu, vice Mayor of Chicago and Deputy Director of Beijing Municipal Commission of Commerce Song Jianming attended and addressed the meeting.
Deputy Director Wang Xu said in his address that since the establishment of the joint workgroup of trade and investment cooperation between Chinese cities and Chicago in 2013, the two sides have made active efforts to promote the investment including establishing the dynamic information exchange platform, organizing delegation exchanges, speeding up project matchmaking, and holding policy environment promotion. The CIPA signed the MOU on Establishing Business Facilitation Mechanism between Chinese Cities and Chicago on behalf of the Chinese cities on the morning of July 14, an important fruit of a phrase of the joint workgroup. At present, 8 Chinese cities and the city of Chicago have about 20 projects underway or seeking for cooperation, with project value of US$1 billion. The workgroup’s influence on project promotion is gradually taking on.
The seminar attracted over 100 representatives from domestic business charging departments and enterprises. During the discussion, entrepreneurs from two sides have made in-depth talks on bilateral investment and cooperation in major industry as well as its prospect.
