Chief Representatives Meeting of Sixth Round of China-Japan-ROK FTA Negotiations Held in Japan

The chief representatives meeting of the sixth round of China-Japan-ROK FTA negotiations was held in Tokyo, Japan on January 16, and the three parties had talks on issues concerning the tax-reduction model of trade in goods, trade in services, investment and opening models and ranges and areas being covered by the agreement. The Chinese delegation was led by Chinese Assistant Minister of Commerce Wang Shouwen, and the negotiations lasted for two days. The sixth round of China-Japan-ROK FTA negotiations at the director level was held in Tokyo, Japan earlier on November 24-28, 2014.

The China-Japan-ROK FTA negotiations started in November 2012 and five rounds of negotiations were done so far. China, Japan and the ROK are major economies in the world, and to establish the China-Japan-ROK FTA will not only enhance more convenient trade and investment and closer economic exchanges among the three countries, but also exert great significance to promoting the east Asian and Asia-Pacific regional economic integration as well as the growth of the world economy.
