Trunki Buys Its Manufacturer, Saves 50 Jobs

Magmatic, the company behind the ride-on suitcases, steps in to save Inject Plastics

Almost 50 jobs have been saved after the manufacturer of Trunki was bought out.

Magmatic Ltd, the firm behind the popular Trunki ride-on kids' suitcases, stepped in to save Inject Plastics Ltd - and 49 jobs.

Plymouth-based Inject Plastics originally went into administration on November 23rd. It manufactures the Trunki products for Magmatic - and will now continue to do so.

Rob Law, creator of Trunki and Magmatic's MD, said: "We are delighted to be able to bring the business of Inject Plastics Ltd into the fold of Magmatic Ltd and very much look forward to working with their existing customer base, as well as helping more British businesses manufacture on-shore with a world class manufacturing facility, renamed Magma Moulding."

Earlier this year, Magmatic brought a large amount of its production from China to the UK.
