China to Regulate Agriculture PV Power Stations

The China government is set to draw up regulations to address the increasing establishment of PV power-generating stations for agricultural purposes around the country, according to National Business Daily (NBD).

More than 400 agricultural PV power-generating stations are being built or planned in China, with total installation capacity of over 2.0GWp, the China-based NBD said.

In terms of land acquisition, it is easier to build PV power-generating stations on farmland than on other places, NBD indicated.

The regulations to be introduced look to prevent PV facilities from hindering or negatively impacting the original use of the agricultural land. If the investors or owners of such facilities are not the ones involved in agricultural production, there should be a balance in interests between the two parties, NBD indicated.
