Hebei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Hebei Iron and Steel Group has announced that in the January-February period of the current year its subsidiary Xuanhua Steel exported 33,235 mt of wire rod (all SAE grade), accounting for 19.6 percent of the company’s total wire rod output in the two months in question. The export price of the wire rod was RMB 30/mt higher than the sales price in the Chinese domestic market.
Meanwhile, Chengde Steel, another Hebei Steel Group subsidiary, has won a tender for the supply of rebar to the Chashma nuclear power project in Pakistan. Accordingly, Chengde Steel will supply 6,130 mt of rebar in 12 specifications, to be shipped from the port of Shanghai before April 15.
Another Hebei Steel Group subsidiary Hengshui Steel Sheet Co. has recently exported 1,400 mt of galvanized sheet steel to the markets of Greece and Spain.
In addition, in the first two months of the current year Hebei Steel Group subsidiary Handan Steel’s Hanbao cold rolled plant saw a year-on-year increase of 60.4 percent in steel sheet output, producing 42,000 mt of steel sheet for the automotive sector and 28,000 mt of steel sheet for application in household appliances.
