Advanced sealing technology maker Freudenberg-NOK is planning to install four (PEV) charging stations at its headquarters in Michigan, as a part of the Workplace Charging Challenge Pledge program created by the US Department of Energy (DOE).
The company already has two plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) charging stations at its headquarters.
Apart from providing access to the charging stations to its employees, the company is also planning to grant access to the chargers to the public.
The program initiated by the DOE, partners with employers who showcases their commitment to provide PEV charging access to their employees.
The additional charging stations at Freudenberg-NOK headquarter will be installed within the next month, and will be capable of charging a total of six vehicles at one time.
Freudenberg-NOK president Ted Duclos said: "Our company is fully committed to making electric vehicles a more practical option.
"By taking these steps, we hope to increase public awareness of the benefits and capabilities of electric vehicles. The technology is here, but there is an opportunity for infrastructure development to expand the use of PEVs."
