India-based auto maker Mahindra & Mahindra’s (M&M) over-all sales increased by 6% to 45,297 units in December 2012 compared to 42,761 units sold in December 2011.
The company sold about 42,307 units in the home-market in December 2012, up 6% from 39,891 units sold in the corresponding month in 2011.
The passenger vehicle sales increased 18% to 22,761 in December 2012 over 19341 units in sold in December 2011.
Mahindra & Mahindra automotive division chief executive Pravin Shah said: "We do hope that corrective measures are announced and implemented soon bringing in the much needed buoyancy and growth for the industry."
The 4-wheeler commercial segment including the passenger and load categories recorded sales of about 13,706 units and exports reached 2,990 units, up 4% in December 2012 compared to the same period in the previous year.
