LED Epitaxial Wafer and Chip Maker Epistar Has Obtained Orders for HV Chips

LED epitaxial wafer and chip maker Epistar has obtained orders for high-voltage (HV) LED chips from Philips Lumileds Lighting, Osram and General Electric, with shipments to begin in second-quarter 2014, according to the Chinese-language newspaper Economic Daily News (EDN).

HV LED chips have luminous efficiency of 162lm/W and Epistar expects monthly revenues from the product to rise to over NT$100 million (US$3.3 million), EDN indicated.
