The Thomas’ brand, creators and bakers of the original Nooks & Crannies English Muffins, is introducing a new, year-round flavor that will permanently join the family of English Muffin flavors — the Blueberry English Muffin.
The new Blueberry Thomas' English Muffins will be available at grocery stores and other major food retailers nationwide starting March 21, with a suggested retail price of $3.99 for a six-count pack. Blueberry is the first flavor of English Muffins to be added to Thomas' legacy line in several years, and is in good company on shelves alongside other year-round varieties such as Original, Light Multi-Grain, Cinnamon Raisin, Honey Wheat and Sourdough.
The Thomas' team utilized market research and consumer input to decide the latest flavor, which showed an opportunity for a Blueberry English Muffin. Since testing began last year, the flavor has been receiving outstanding reviews, similar to the always-popular Cinnamon Raisin English Muffin.
"We're excited to pair an all-American, favorite flavor like blueberry with a food as iconic as the English Muffin," said Jon Silvon, Senior Marketing Director of Thomas' products. "We're always innovating and testing new varieties, and with our Blueberry Bagel already being one of our top-sellers, it made sense to extend the flavor into our English Muffin line."
In addition to the legacy flavors of English Muffins, Thomas' offers seasonal, limited-edition varieties at various times throughout the year, which have proven to be big sellers for the brand. On shelves now is the latest limited-edition English Muffin flavor to be added to the portfolio, Maple French Toast, which debuted for the first time in January 2016, and has received rave reviews, already building a passionate fan base that rivals that of Thomas' fall season favorite, Pumpkin Spice English Muffins. Maple French Toast English Muffins are available at grocery retailers through April 3.
The Thomas' brand dates back to 1880 when Samuel Bath Thomas created his original English Muffin in New York City using a secret process that included griddle baking to create a Nooks and Crannies English Muffin. The company has since added bagels and breakfast breads to its breakfast offerings. Today, Thomas' sells the No. 1 English Muffin and No. 1 grocery bagel in the U.S.
