It’s a matter of saving noses from being broken.
The Davis County Commission has approved a $5,598.37 contract with Sign Pro to install signs and vinyl applications to the interior glass doors of the new Davis County Administrative Offices building to prevent patrons from running into them.
On a number of occasions, people not familiar with their surroundings at the new county office building have walked right into the clear glass doors accessing the various county departments.
One man, without breaking stride, ran into the glass door accessing the commission chambers, officials said.
The work by Sign Pro will identify the various offices, said Davis County Commissioner Louenda Downs.
“It will identify where the doors are,” Thompson said, hoping the work will prevent patrons from running into the doors.
Davis County Commissioner John Petroff Jr. suggested a less expensive way of letting patrons know where the glass doors begin and the glass walls end: Have the county give kids cotton-candy and let them touch all of the glass doors so their fingerprints will stand out, allowing the public to better see the glass.
Davis County Commissioner Bret Millburn pointed out those responsible for cleaning the building for the county would never go for it.
