British manufacturer of sport utility vehicles (SUV), Land Rover has unveiled the 2014 model year Range Rover Evoque vehicle with the new active driveline system.
The new Range Rover Evoque is powered by the 2L Turbocharged Direct Injected engine that delivers an output of 240hp, when paired with the ZF-9HP automatic transmission.
The new nine speed automatic transmission is claimed to offer reduced fuel consumptions and CO2 emissions by about 11.4% and 9.5% respectively, along with improved performance.
Active driveline system, which will be available as a standard product on the vehicle, is a four-wheel drive system that offers active differentials as well as torque vectoring.
The new system is said to decrease driveline drag by decoupling the four-wheel drive system during steady-state driving at speeds of over 22mph, while monitoring vehicle dynamics and can automatically activate the four-wheel drive.
The system also features Active Torque Biasing with an electronically controlled differential that divides the torque between the rear wheels to improve traction and stability.
The new Range Rover Evoque features new driver assistance capabilities including park exit, perpendicular park, adaptive cruise control, closing vehicle sensing and reverse traffic detection.
Additionally, new exteriors, color options for the interior, new alloy wheel styles and a new style of Land Rover badge on the grille, wheel centers and tailgate have been made available for the vehicle.
