Acura, the luxury vehicle division of Japanese automaker Honda Motor, will manufacture the all-new NSX supercar at a new Performance Manufacturing Center in Ohio, US.
The new $70m production facility, which is located in Honda's previous North American Logistics facility and in the current R&D and production engineering operations, has a footprint of 184,000sqft.
According to the company, Honda R&D Americas chief engineer Ted Klaus will lead the global team that will develop the new NSX, and Honda America associate chief engineer Clement D' Souza will is leading the team that will bring NSX to mass production in 2015.
Ted Klaus said, "We have a very clear understanding of the high customer expectations luxury buyers around the world have for a supercar, and our challenge is to exceed them and create new value for the customer."
The new NSX will be powered by a mid-mounted V-6 engine paired with Acura's new sport hybrid super handling all wheel drive (SH-AWD) system and will feature a body structure that is claimed to offer improved driving experience.
