Japanese car maker Mazda has unveiled its fourth generation two-seater convertible MX-5 simultaneously in US, Japan and Spain.
The car features SKYACTIV technology which is aimed at developing fuel efficient engine with increased engine output.
The company has not disclosed the details about the engine but reports suggest that the car could be available in available in 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre petrol engine variants.
For designing, Mazda has used its KODO design language which combines three principles: speed, tense and alluring to capture, which Mazda claims the "soul of motion".
On the interior, the company has adopted most of the technology that is present in Mazda 3 featuring an infotainment system and swivel wheel control.
With the fourth generation, the company has lowered the bonnet, and the windscreen while the A-pillars have been made thinner and moved rearward to provide a better view of the road.
MX-5 is more than 100kg lighter than its predecessor making it even more compact compared to other generation.
Mazda is planning to launch the car globally starting in 2015.
