Restaurant retailer Jamba Juice has formed a strategic relationship with the Global Green USA’s Coalition of Resource Recovery (CoRR) in a bid to enhance its eco-sustainability strategy.
According to Jamba Juice, the partnership will help support its efforts to reduce waste and energy consumption and increase the use of environmentally friendly materials including the phasing out of polystyrene, which Jamba proposes to complete during 2013.
Jamba Juice senior vice president and chief innovation officer Susan Shields said the retailer announced its eco-sustainability platform officially in 2009 and one of its key initiatives was concentrated on the next evolution of its cold beverage cup.
"We are committed to reducing our environmental footprint and to working with like-minded organizations, such as CoRR, in the exploration of new packaging technologies and waste management infrastructures that enable continuous improvement," Shields said.
The new program enables the US-based Jamba Juice to improve the recoverability of its own product packaging.
