Sturdy Labels Purchased Edale Eight Colour UV Dual Servo FL-3 Machine in The UK

UK-based label printing firm Sturdy Labels has purchased an Edale eight colour UV dual servo FL-3 machine at their Skelmersdale factoy in the UK.

The machine, measuring 350mm in width, features an array of additional options including turnbar, delam/relam, cold foil, lamination, variable length sheeting function, and a delivery table.

Sturdy Labels will use the machine to produce self adhesive labels mainly for the food and personal care divisions, apart from chemical, glass, electronic and paper markets.

Sturdy Labels already owns an Edale Beta 250mm wide press as well as several other presses' by other manufacturers.

Simon Sturdy of Sturdy Labels said the company looked and demonstrated many different machines but decided to go with the Edale FL-3 due to the quick turnaround, fast job changes and minimal ink and material waste.

Sturdy Labels said Edale's partnership and close support have provided it with the confidence to continue development of their business.

"Edale's FL-3 press, engineered, designed and built in Britain, will allow us to move forward with confidence to develop our business in the demanding markets we have targeted," Sturdy said.

Sturdy Labels operations manager Phil Cummings said along with Edale and the company's specialist ink manufacturer, it has developed a high quality opaque white print which is of particular advantage in the Personal Care sector.

"Here again, the FL-3's capability to handle low-calliper unsupported film is of appreciable benefit to our future plans," Cummings said.
