Japanese automaker Honda has started the production of the 2014 Acura MDX vehicles at its Honda Manufacturing of Alabama (HMA) plant in the US.
The 2014 Acura MDX is powered by a direct injection V-6 engine, which will also be produced at the HMA plant.
The redesigned seven-passenger Acura MDX has been built on a completely new platform in order to offer enhanced ride comfort, fuel economy as well as performance.
HMA is planning to start the sales of the new vehicles across the country in coming weeks and will be made available with the fuel-efficient two-wheel-drive configuration.
Additionally, the company will also produce the light truck models, including the Odyssey minivan, the Pilot sport utility vehicle and the Ridgeline pickup at the plant.
The $2bn facility in Alabama was started in 2001 with manufacture of the Honda Odyssey minivan and currently produces four models of the company.
