German automobile manufacturer MAN Truck & Bus has secured an order to deliver 440 trucks to multiple customers in Saudi Arabia.
The company will deliver 240 MAN TGS type trucks to the food producer Almarai in the region that will be used to replenish its current fleet of 1,290 MAN long-haul trucks.
Almarai offers distribution of its chilled foods and dairy products and operates the vehicles to supply heat-sensitive perishable goods across the entire Gulf region as well as Jordan and Egypt.
Additionally, the manufacturer has started the supply of 200 TGS tractors with TipMatic automated gearboxes to Global Specified Transport in Saudi Arabia, among which the first 100 trucks have already been handed over in July 2013.
According to the company, its TGS trucks have been designed to meet the requirements of the Middle East regions and are suited for the climatic conditions.
The local MAN Truck & Bus Distributor Haji Husein Alireza (HHA) is planning to construct three new service centers in the cities Jubail, Madinah and Khamis Mushaitin order to meet increased market demands as well as strengthen the coverage of its mobile service fleet.
