Brazilian food company BRF, a producer of frozen foods under Sadia brand in the Middle East, has opened new $160m production plant in Kizad, Abu Dhabi.
The plant will be capable of producing around 70 thousand tonnes of food products annually.
Spread over 162,157m2 the plant will employ 1400 workers and offer a wide range of products, including breaded items, pizzas, burgers and others.
The plant, compliant to quality and food safety standards, will follow the process of Halal to produce chicken and meat products.
BRF International CEO Pedro Faria said: "The Kizad plant is testament to BRF's commitment to expand our business in the Middle East region. Local production of processed food greatly increases our offering flexibility and adaptation of our products to regional demands and expansion of our Sadia product portfolio in the food service channel for the Middle East, providing the best food products to our customers.
