Come Back 2014 Rogue Vehicles for Incorrect Bolt

Nissan North America, a subsidiary of Japanese automotive company, is recalling model year 2014 Rogue vehicles over the use of incorrect bolt to connect the intermediate shaft to the upper steering assembly.

The company claimed that the incorrect bolts are likely to loosen and fall out with driver losing control of the vehicle increasing the risk of a crash.

The recalled MY2014 Nissan Rogue (T32) vehicles have been manufactured at the Smyrna, TN plant between 10 January 2014 and 17 January 2014. The company intends to inspect and replace the steering column bolt connecting the intermediate shaft to the upper steering assembly if necessary.

The recall is expected to begin by the end of June 2014.

Although the company has not disclosed the number of vehicles that might be affected with the recall, the manufacturer has offered to conduct repairs free of cost.

"Those vehicles found to have an incorrect bolt will have it removed and replaced with the correct part at no cost to the customer for parts and labor," the company said in a statement to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
