J&E Transport and Northstar Services, both in Pennsauken, N.J., said they have merged. Terms were not disclosed.
Carrier J&E offers drayage, domestic warehousing and distribution services. Northstar has terminals at the ports of New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Miami.
“The merger has increased our capacity to 80 trucks for local, regional, and over-the-road trucking services and the newly opened 145,000-square-foot warehouse in Pennsauken, N.J., allows our customers additional space,” Northstar Chairman Martin Marano said in a release.
The merger is effective Jan. 31, and the companies said they expect it to provide cost savings and increased reliability.
“The merger of these two companies enables us to offer fully integrated services to all steamship lines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, 3PLs and beneficial cargo owners,” Al Iannelli, CEO of J&E, said in a statement.
