Honda Motor has started the sale of Odyssey and Odyssey Absolute premium minivans across its dealerships in Japan.
The Odyssey and Odyssey Absolute line-up also include new hybrid versions, which are said to offer good fuel economy and high-quality driving experience.
According to the company, Odyssey Hybrid and Odyssey Absolute Hybrid are the first minivan models to be equipped with its Hybrid i-MMD (Intelligent Multi Mode Drive) engine and offer a fuel efficiency of 26km/L.
The gasoline versions of Odyssey and Odyssey Absolute have also been revamped with spacious interiors and comfort enhancing features.
The company noted that in its Hybrid versions, a new motor has been used which is 23% smaller and lighter compared to the previous version, while it is also claimed to offer high output and torque.
Both the non-hybrid versions, Odyssey and Odyssey Absolute are equipped with a 2.4 litre i-VTEC petrol engine mated to a CVT.
The new Hybrid vehicles feature a 2.0 litre i-VTEC engine, along with a twin electric motor and 1.3 kWh lithium-ion batteries.
Apart from the various features, the new lineup also has Honda's Sensing, a safety and driver assistive technology as standard equipment.
