Jaipur Rugs has garnered an internationally acclaimed reputation for their meticulously hand knotted rugs at the European market and will debut its designer rug collection in the American market soon.
After unparalleled attention received at DOMOTEX, Hannover in January 2014, Jaipur Rugs is set to unveil an exclusive preview of its designer rug collection, Chaos Theory by Kavi in the Chinese market too.
Chaos Theory has been conceptualized and designed by Kavi. An internationally recognized designer, Kavi, has spent much of her life travelling the world and practicing diverse art forms, including painting, sculpture, etc. This influence clearly manifests itself through the unique blend of traditional and contemporary aesthetics in her rug designs.
Enthused by natural materials, classic color palettes, and the distinctive work of artisans and craftspeople she works with; Kavi's rugs are inspired by the purity and chaos in nature. Chaos Theory by Kavi, traces the beauty in nature’s seemingly cluttered patterns.
Natural forms in transition were studied for inspiration, and recreated on unexplored mediums with the help of batik to create unrestrained artwork. Each rug in this collection is created by hand knotting nearly 100,000 intricate knots of the finest hand-carded, hand-spun wool and bamboo silk in every square meter.
PROTEUS, from this collection was selected to be showcased at DOMOTEX, Hannover Souk Deluxe 2014 as part of a select group of the most innovative designs of the year. GAIA, from this collection emerged as a finalist at the Carpet Design Awards at DOMOTEX, Hannover.
JAIPUR creates some of the world’s finest rugs which provide a sustainable livelihood to weavers from rural India while providing them a global platform. JAIPUR’s innovative business model has been a matter of dissertation at reputed universities like Harvard, Wharton and Stanford.
