Croatian food company Podravka has launched a new business unit named as Food Solution to cater to the Horeca segment.
A 1500m2 size factory has been recently built for the new unit which specializes in production of freshly made and semi-ready meals.
Podravka management board president Zvonimir Mršic said: “Uniqueness of this project is that it offers not only the product, but also support, service and counseling in work, which buyers very much need.
“Considering the positive reactions by domestic buyers and inquiries from other countries, we intend to turn this program into a new international business.”
The Food Solution factory is said to be equipped with modern equipment for cooking and preparing food and built in compliance to all ISO and HCCP standards and plans, as well as other food safety procedures.
As of now, Podravka has 130 different meal products to distribute to various institutions like army, police, bistros, hospitals and companies.
Common items included in the meal products are soups, cold and warm appetizers, dressings, sauces, main courses, marinated fresh meat alongside side-dishes and desserts.
The meal offerings are claimed to be made without preservatives, stabilizers or additional additives and are either freshly made or cooked or baked ready or semi ready using quality raw materials and tastes.
Podravka Food Solution senior vice-president Peter Fuchs said: “Food solution implies a totally new Horeca segment in which, apart from high-quality products we give to our buyers the necessary know-how on how to use products and provide them with the service of preparing menus, organizing kitchen tasks and personnel and planning investments in kitchen equipment.”
In July, Podravka announced its financial results for the first half 2016 in which its food segment grew by 34.3% to contribute sales revenue of HRK1,609.5m ($235m).
