Tetra Pak has announced the acquisition of the business of New Zealand-based Sealing Technology, for an undisclosed amount.
Tetra Pak said the equipment will be offered as a retrofittable version for existing lines or as Tetra Pak standard plant for new installations.
Tetra Pak materials handling key account manager Ivan Marovic said that the acquisition will allow the company to use the post-gassing cycle in the company's powder handling projects.
"As a supplier of post-gassing technology, Tetra Pak will implement this technology as part of its bulk bag packing solutions for dairy, food and ingredient powders," Marovic said.
Oxygen from the packed powder will be removed and preserved, thus increasing the shelf life of the product. The solution uses less modified atmosphere gas compared to traditional methods.
