Boehringer Ingelheim has entered into a collaboration agreement with ChemAxon, a provider of cheminformatics software platforms.
Under the agreement, Boehringer will implement ChemAxon's chemistry software platform for use in multiple applications across research and development, supporting in-house activities and work with external collaboration partners.
The software, which is designed for pharmaceutical R&D, is used to store, search, calculate, and visualize chemical entities, properties and reactions, which help to streamline the progression from drug discovery to clinical candidate.
ChemAxon CEO Alex Drijver said, "The adoption of ChemAxon technology by Boehringer Ingelheim further underlines our position as the platform of choice for R&D organizations planning their next-generation systems."
In addition, ChemAxon provides desktop applications for the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries.
