20,000 Units of The Fr-S Per Year Is Planned to Be Sold by Scion

Scion, a brand of Toyota Motor, is planning to sell 20,000 units of the all-new FR-S sports car, every year.

The company said it will sell 10,000 units of the FR-S this year, while next year, it will sell between 10,000 and 20,000 units.

Scion claims that it has received about 1243 pre-orders for the sports car and another 27,000 people are interested in buying the FR-S when the model will go on sale.

Unveiled at Tokyo Motor Show and at the Lost Angeles Auto Show, the FR-S will be powered by Subaru's 2.0 litre four-cylinder engine, featuring Toyota's D-4S direct injection technology, and will generate output of 197 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque.

Rear wheels of the sports car will be powered through the six-speed manual transmission in standard or through the optional the six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters available as an option.

According to inautonews, the new model will be on sale in the US at a starting price of $24,930.
