Rechi Precision Co., Ltd., world's fourth-largest compressor supplier by shipment, achieved robust sales in 2013, in which the company shipped record-breaking 12.3682 million units to rack up the second-highest annual consolidated revenue of NT$16.472 billion (about US$549 million), according to its latest financial statement.
The statements show that its sales in December alone totaled 1.2823 million, up 24.72% year-on-year (YoY) as a single-month high of all time, with consolidated revenue of NT$1.557 billion (US$51.9 million), up 14.71%. Such annual sales were up 13.01% over 2012 and 368,200 units more than its goal set earlier.
Rechi attributes the rosy performance to explosively surging sales of small-sized compressors for household air conditioners in the U.S. during October-December, which also explains why consolidated revenue didn't grow as strongly as sales volume, for such models sell for comparatively low unit prices.
The company, however, admitted that its 2013 net profits are likely to be lower than that in 2012, primarily because of increasing operating costs.
As to prospects in the first quarter of this year, the company aims for continued banner performance, as company directors confirmed that its capacity has been almost fully booked throughout the quarter, which is expected to realize shipment exceeding 1.2 million units in both January and February, and, for the entire quarter, to exceed 10% or more than 3.03 million units scored during the same period in 2012.
To fill those overwhelming orders, the company has decided to keep factories in Taiwan and China rolling during the Chinese New Year holidays.
In the face of the current boom, the company noted that it is very likely to attain its annual sales goal of 13 million units this year, and achieve cumulative sales of 100 million units since its establishment by the end of June. (SC)
