During the creative frenzy in New York of the 70s, Cartier luxury jewelry house  designed “Juste un Clou”, a jewelry collection that reflects the true spirit of those years – a style that is both modern and daring. In 2012, Cartier released the new Juste Un Clou nail-inspired collection, based on Aldo Cipullo’s original 1971 design.

Maison Cartier celebrated the relaunch with a commemorative exhibition at the Cartier Mansion on Fifth Avenue in NYC, entitled “Cartier & Aldo Cipullo, New York City in the 70s Exhibition”.

The exhibition is opened to the public from April 13th – May 8th at the landmark Cartier Mansion on Fifth Avenue (653 Fifth Avenue, New York City). The Juste un Clou pieces range from $2,175 to $34,000.

Curated and designed by Cartier in collaboration with Stefan Beckman, the NY exhibition includes approximately 40 Cartier jewels from the the 70s as well as archival drawings, articles and scrapbooks. The instantly iconic Love bracelet designed by Aldo Cipullo is the star of the exhibition. It was in 1971 that the first nail bracelet was conceived by Cipullo; together with Cartier, they had the vision to introduce a bracelet inspired by the everyday object.
