Coca-Cola (CCE) and Siemens Industry Automation agreed to initiate a new process of standardisation of automation and controls. The agreement will see both the companies working together to implement the approach across Europe.
The approach aims to support CCE's drive to increase the production capacity of its bottling and canning lines and cut down maintenance levels across its production sites.
As part of the commissioning of a new £14.3m production line at its Sidcup factory in Kent, UK for both canned products, CCE has employed Siemens automation control technology.
CCE planned to implement optimised packaging line (OPL) from Siemens at its plant in order to increase line efficiency. The KHS line is initially expected to produce 150ml and 330ml cans with plans to introduce 500ml cans further.
With the new standardization program, CCE is ready to capitalize on the advantages of the Siemens OPL agreement across its system and plans to increase production levels at its Kent plant.
