Japanese carmaker Toyota has unveiled new 2013 RAV4 crossover sport utility vehicle (SUV) at the 2012 Los Angeles International auto show in the US.
The vehicle will feature eight airbags, 2.5L four-cylinder, which is capable of producing 176 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 172 ft. lbs. of torque at 4,100 rpm.
Available in LE, XLE, and Limited levels, the front-wheel-drive models of 2013 RAV4 received a 24/31 mpg city/highway rating from the EPA.
The company expects to receive 22 mpg city/29 mpg highway rating for all-wheel-drive models.
The LE will feature 17-inch steel wheels, XLE will include 17-inch alloys, and Limited will be equipped with 18-inch alloys.
Toyota replaced the four-speed automatic with a a new six-speed gearbox equipped with Sequential Shift and Eco and Sport modes.
The Sport mode features an AWD system and can automatically deliver about 50% of engine power to the rear wheels.
The new vehicle has a MacPherson strut front suspension, double-wishbone rear suspension and four-wheel disc brakes.
