The Income of H1 2012 Increases 16.2%, German Carmaker Audi Group

German carmaker Audi Group has reported 16.2% rise in its revenue to EUR25bn when compared to the same period in 2011 boosted the increase in vehicle sales.

The carmaker's operating profit increased to EUR2,876m reporting a 13.2% rise over the same period in 2011, while the operating return on sales was up 11.5% during the period.

During H1 2012, the carmaker's sales increased 12.3% to 733,237 units when compared to 652,892 units sold during the same period in 2011

Demand was especially high for the new Audi Q3 as well as for the Q5, A6, A7 and A8 models, the company said.

Following the improved performance during the H1 2012, Audi plans to sell more than 1.4 million cars in overall 2012.

Audi is also planning to launch its A1 Sportback, the Q3 and the new A3 in late summer 2012, which are expected to boost the sales of the carmaker.
