German carmaker Audi has unveiled the gasoline variant of SQ5 sport utility vehicle(SUV)ahead of its global debut at the upcoming 2013 Detroit Auto Show in the US,to be held during 14-27 January.
The new SUV is powered by a 2,995 cc,3.0 TFSI V6 engine that generates an output of 354hp between 6,000 and 6,500 rpm,as well as a 470Nm of torque between 4,000 and 4,500 rpm.
The engine is mated to an automatic eight-speed tiptronic transmission that offers two modes and also enables drivers switch gears manually through the standard shift paddles on the steering wheel,while the quattro permanent all-wheel drive(AWD)allows transfer of power to all four wheels.
Audi claims that the new SUV will sprint from 0-100km/h in 5.3 seconds and achieves a top speed of 250 km/h,while consumes 8.5L of fuel per 100 km.
Features of the new gasoline model include 20 inch wheels fitted with 255/45-series tires,xenon plus headlights with LED daytime driving lights,loading-sill protector and a driver information system with color display.
Scheduled to go on sale in the US in the third quarter of 2013,the new SUV is designed specifically for markets including the US,Canada,Russia,China,Japan,Singapore,South Korea,South Africa,Mexico,Brazil,Argentina,Chile and the Ukraine.
