Williams Sausage Is Set to Expand Its Manufacturing Facility

US-based food manufacturer Williams Sausage is set to expand its manufacturing facility located at Old Troy-Hickman Road in Union City, Tennessee, a move which is expected to create 148 new jobs over the next two years.

The company is set to invest about $3m to expand its manufacturing capabilities in the region.

Williams Sausage President Roger Williams said: 'In these tough economic times, we consider ourselves very fortunate and are thankful for the Tennessee Department of Economic & Community Development's assistance in this major expansion of our business."

Tennessee Economic and Community Development commissioner Bill Hagerty said that with this investment, the company is building on more than fifty years of success in the region as it remains an important and growing employer of quality workforce.

"Tennessee's unique business advantages allow companies with deep ties to not only grow but thrive," Hagerty added.

Williams Sausage, headquartered in Union City, Tennessee, was established in 1958. Since then, it has grown from one employee to 414 by expanding its distribution and adding new products. The company's products are sold primarily in Tennessee, Kentucky and Ohio.
