China based Yanfeng Visteon's subsidiary, Yanfeng USA Automotive Trim Systems will build a new $45m worth vehicle parts manufacturing and sequencing facility in the Kansas City area, Missouri.
The 258,000sqft facility is expected to start construction in May 2013 and will be operational after completion in early 2014.
Yanfeng USA president David Wang said, "We appreciate the support and assistance from the state of Missouri, the Kansas City region, and the City of Riverside throughout our year-long process of selecting a new location for this facility."
Interior trim components, including door panels, floor consoles and instrument panels will be manufactured at the new plant for General Motors' (GM) assembly plants in Kansas City and Wentzville.
Yanfeng Visteon was found in 1994 and has over 90 production facilities across the globe that export its products to 16 countries.
Currently, the Kansas City area also houses the manufacturing operations of GM and Ford.
