South Carolina-based McCall Farms, which specialized in vegetables that grow in the state including peas, beans, greens, okra, rutabaga and tomatoes, is working on a project to display the nutritional benefits of canned food on its labels.
Each label will have a 'Can Fact' and a QR code to guide consumers to the company's website for more information, according to World Packaging News.
The company will also educate consumers about the environmental attributes of metal packaging, besides it plans to print the official 'Cans: Infinitely Recyclable' logo on labels in partnership with Crown.
