Remember when Mattel used a giant iPad to showcase its app toys?
Now it's gone one step further - the firm's Fisher-Price label showed off a Giant Baby Bouncer at the 2013 Baby Show this weekend.
It also had its new Apptivity app toys on display.
Fisher-Price unveiled the adult-sized baby bouncer in its 'Something for the Dads' area at the show.
Parents were able to "see through their baby’s eyes" using the product, complete with oversized toys hanging down for entertainment. Mums and dads queued at the show to try it out and have their photos taken.
The Apptivity range also drew in visitors to the stand, with parents and tots able to try out new products.
The Laugh & Learn Apptivity Case for iPhone and iPad was on show. It's designed to protect parents’ devices from dribble, drool and sticky fingers. Fisher-Price also introduced the Apptivity Gym, suitable from birth, and the Apptivity Storybook Reader, Apptivity Puppy and Apptivity Monkey for babies aged six months and over.
The free Laugh & Learn apps, including Let’s Count Animals, Where’s Puppy’s Nose and the new Storybook Rhymes, have had over 2.8 million downloads to date.
Melanie Murgatroyd, from Fisher-Price's marketing division, said: "The show was a huge success and not only gave us the opportunity to get our new Apptivity products into the hands of parents and children, but we were also able to directly talk to mums and dads about their feelings towards app based products for babies.
"The positive response was overwhelming and gave us useful insight for the range going forward.
"The Giant Bouncer also grabbed attention over the weekend and added an element of fun - which is an important part of our brand."
The Apptivity range will be supported by extensive marketing and PR activities throughout the year.
Fisher-Price is the headline sponsor for the Baby Show in 2013.
