Drug delivery CRO Particle Sciences has joined forces with Netzsch Premier Technologies, a manufacturer of wet milling and dispersing equipment.
The partnership aims to provide drug developers with improved access to pharmaceutical nanomilling equipment and full pharmaceutical development capabilities.
Particle Sciences pharmaceutical development president Robert Lee said the company has been using particle size reduction in both dry and liquid-dispersed states for decades.
"With this collaboration, we acquired a NETZSCH DELTAVITA Mill, which is one of the premier systems for pharmaceutical applications,"Lee added.
"There is a growing demand for wet-milled products, particularly with respect to sterile products.
"The additional capability allows our clients to get into the clinic faster with a commercially representative manufacturing process."
Netzsch Premier Technologies president Randall Smith said Particle Sciences provides customers that are interested in wet milling access to full development capabilities, including being able to take their products from feasibility into preclinical testing, human clinical trials and commercialization.
"They will be a valuable partner to fully demonstrate the utility of our equipment and we will work with them as they continue to expand," Smith added.
