Homag Group Sold Its First Reactec Plant to The Swedwood Group

Homag Group has sold its first reacTec plant to the Swedwood group,a subsidiary of Ikea. This facility is due to start operating at an undisclosed Swedwood site in Poland this autumn.According to Homag, talks are already under way about additional machinery orders.Homag had unveiled the reacTec technology at the Homag Treff event in autumn 2010.The process was developed with the Bopfingen branch of Henkel and Nordson Deutschland, which is part of the US firm Nordson. At that time, the machinery manufacturer anticipated that a first prototype could be sold to a pilot user during the fourth quarter of 2010.At the Homag Treff 2011,Homag said that it had pushed back the timetable because of high volatility in investments in new laminating plants. However, the company had also made it clear that laminating plants ordered in the past year, which up until now have been earmarked to process hot-melt adhesives and urea-based adhesives, could be adapted to the reacTec technology.
